Percussionist Max Castlunger's research and curiosity for sounds and instruments of the world constitutes the identity matrix of JEMM Music Project, a project that was born in 2013 from the meeting of three South Tyrolean percussionists (Castlunger, Jack Alemanno and Emanuel Valentin) and with the arrival in 2014 of bassist Marco Stagni, they released their first record 'Jemm Music Project' focused on the ethereal and hypnotic sounds of Handpan and Steel pan. After a few years of performing together, the band transformed, changing members and expanding the lineup with Matteo Cuzzolin (sax), Hannes Mock (trombone) and Mirko Pedrotti (vibraphone). In 2019 they released their second album 'Hive' on Herbert Pixner's Austrian label Three Saints Records, with numerous appearances at major events and festivals in Italy and abroad including: Ambria Jazz, Festival Acquedotte, Folkest, Südtirol Jazz Festival, Trentino Jazz Festival, Garda Jazz, Mountain Music, Moena Armonic Festival, Ladinia Pop Festival, Val Badia Jazz Festival, Al Plan Folk Festival, Dolomiti Ski Jazz, Sentieri Acustici, Festa dei Popoli, Volxfesta, Sunside Festiva, Val di Fassa Panorama Music, Fiemme Ski Jazz, Itinerari Folk (I), Uhuru Festival (CH), Pixner’s Backstage (A), Worldmusic Festival Loshausen (D), Gaume Jazz Festival (BE), Jammin’ Summer Session e Jazz a Juan, Antibes (FR), Festival Jazz au Chellah (Marocco).
